Homeopathy has been successful in treating a variety of mental, emotional and physical conditions, including long term problems. Homeopathy treats the individual in order to overcome the insult or disease.
Conventional medicine often suppresses symptoms e.g. eczema with cortisone. The homoeopath looks at these symptoms differently: in reoccurring diseases like eczema it is only the tip of the iceberg. The homeopath wants to discover the root of the problem, otherwise healing does not take place, and the sufferer experiences only temporary relief from the symptoms. In ‘disease’ the person is not at ease – and homoeopathy can restore the balance.
For example, if you suffer from nausea after an opulent meal or suffer from reoccurring headaches, homeopathic remedies can help in acute or chronic ailments. A cold can be considerably improved within a few hours by the well selected homoeopathic remedy. Equally, sport injuries or the pain of burns can be successfully treated with homeopathy.
A classical homoeopath takes time to listen and to investigate the best homoeopathy has to offer to their patient. For example, during the consultation not only the head will be treated for a reoccurring headache, but you will be treated as a whole person. In acute problems like ear infections the emphasis will be more on individual, acute symptoms.
In more chronic ailments a remedy will be selected which not only covers the disease symptoms but also the symptoms of whole person, including individual likes and dislikes. In the course of treatment you will be prescribed a range of different homoeopathic remedies, which will lead you step by step to maximal health and the improvement of your problem.
A homoeopathic consultation begins with an extensive case take where questions about current and previous ailments will be asked. Especially in classical homoeopathy a homoeopath will investigate into chronic cases not only the symptoms of the disease but also the symptoms belonging to the person, e.g.: preferences of food, weather or sleeping patterns.
Often the initial consultation will last 1 hour. A remedy will be prescribed, and a follow up appointment will be arranged. Follow up consultations will take 30 minutes.
A classical homeopath understands that establishing good health involves both mind and physical symptoms. For example, a debilitating accident or disease can leave a person isolated and/or depressed, or a depression following an unresolved grief can lead to severe physical symptoms.
Identifying what makes a person ill is half of the homoeopath’s job. Then a series of remedies can be administered which lead to long lasting improvement.
The duration of the treatment in chronic diseases always depends on how long the problem existed. After the second or third consultation I can provide you with a treatment plan.
For infections (cold, flu, etc.), traumas and much more only a short consultation is necessary and improvement should be felt within the next 1-2 hrs (or quicker) after taking the remedy. Another consultation on the phone is often needed when symptoms change on the road to recovery.
Generally – yes. For example a broken leg has to be looked after in a hospital but to aid the healing process and to reduce the pain a homoeopathic remedy will help.
Homoeopathy also has much to offer as a treatment after necessary operations to get you back on track faster and without any debilitating after effects.
Even after being diagnosed with a life long illness it is always a good idea to look for alternative treatment.
Successful treatment is generally a two way effort. To assist with treatment observation is of utmost importance. Before you come for a consultation ask yourself the following questions:
- Where are the symptoms located / where does it hurt?
- When were the symptoms felt for the first time?
- When or what changes the symptoms?
- How does my child feel in general (mood etc.)
- Have sleeping, eating, drinking habits changed?
- Are there any other discomforts the same time the complaint occurs?
- What is unusual?
A Classical Homeopath obeys the traditional laws of Homeopathy who specializes purely in homeopathy. A classical Homeopath has been trained extensively in medical sciences, the practical application of homeopathy, homeopathic philosophy, nutrition, chemistry and biochemistry. This constitutes four years fulltime study, with university level qualifications in medical science, one year greater study than required for nursing. Most Classical Homeopaths only work with homeopathy for its effectiveness is proven every day in our clinics. We treat each patient individually on a case by case basis.
In Australia homoeopathy is not regulated. In the worst case scenario someone having completed a weekend course can advertise Homoeopathy as part of their services.
A Classical Homoeopath spends 4 year training in Homoeopathy and Medical Science including other modalities and has to complete ongoing training in order to be registered.
When you see a Classical Homoeopath you see an expert in homoeopathy.
